Riyesh Patil

Riyesh Patil is an architect and artist whose work at Social Design Collaborative explores a deeper and empathetic perspective towards how the built environment responds to the different forces of society from caste, class, culture, religion and politics. A graduate from Rizvi College of Architecture, Mumbai, his final year thesis project ‘Re-Imagining the India-Pakistan Border’ had focused on recognising the socio-political & geopolitical layers of architecture as a catalyst for change. His art practice, ‘ri.p’ is an extension of his identity, exercising honesty and introspection as the genesis of creation with black being his preferred medium of expression.
